KODAK PROFESSIONAL 9810 Digital Photo Printer

Effective May 15, 2012, Advance Unit Replacement program will increase from $ 250.00 to $300.00 per year for a support agreement through Sept 1, 2013. Pro rata in advance amount based on an annual baseline agreement, i.e. Annual Agreement = $300 and they renew on March 1, 2013 the invoice in advance would be for $ 150 (6 months).

Kodak has brought back the 6850 Dye sublimation Printer 5R borderless conversion kit. This is a hardware kit to modify the Kodak 6850 printer to produce borderless 5×7 prints. Cat # 117 2626 List Price $75. Effective March 2012.  This is of interest to retail finishers using Kodak Kiosks Picture Makers, and Kodak APEX Photofinishing dry lab systems.

Kodak is pre-announcing the discontinuance of it’s three Professional EKTACHROME and ELITE Chrome (color slide/reversal) Films. Demand for and sales of these three products has been steadily declining over many years.  The three EKTACHROME and ELITE Chrome films will continue to ship until all remaining inventory has been depleted. Kodak Ektachrome films of this generation were the hallmark of commercial photographers in the 90’s and introduced the higher saturation color look that was trendy in publications.

Effective immediately, prices for the impacted products are increasing by 15%. This does not affect Kodak Professional Color Negative or Black & White films, which remain a vital part of Kodak’s award-winning Professional Film portfolio. We say goodbye to an old friend for many photographers.

Key benefits to top coating a canvas print:  Increases durability of the printed image on the canvas Improves water resistance of the printed image on the canvas  Allows for adjustment of the surface gloss to desired levels.

It is recommended for those top coating canvas prints to select Exhibition Matte Canvas:  Exhibition Matte Canvas is about 20% less expensive than Exhibition Gloss and Exhibition Satin canvas. Exhibition Canvas Matte can accept top coats in matte, satin or gloss finish.  Exhibition Matte Canvas can accept top coats applied by either brushing, rolling, spraying, laminating or silk screening.  If top coating Exhibition Canvas Satin or Exhibition Canvas Gloss, only a spray will work (brushing and rolling will transfer ink off of the canvas)

Prior to applying a top coat  Avoid touching the printed side of the canvas Allow printed canvas to dry a minimum of 24 hours prior to coating Do not stack printed canvas images.
